Knife gate valves (knife, wedge, slurry) are shut-off fittings with a gate in the form of a flat plate that moves fully upward or sideways. This operating principle allows for blocking viscous liquids and slurry flow up to 10%, provides less abrasion wear, ensures maximum passage capacity through the opening, and quick opening/closing operation.

Knife gate valves with knife shutters are most commonly used at the bottom of cement silos, in inert material hoppers, on industrial wastewater pipelines, before screw and belt conveyors, etc.
