How to choose a directional control valve?

1. First, choose the type of distributor by control method — manual, or with electro and pneumatic control;
2. Distributor linearity — is the number of lines, i.e., inlet-outlet ports for the air.
   • Directional control valve 3/2. If the air distributor is 3-way, it means it has 1 inlet, 1 outlet and 1 exhaust. Such devices are used for controlling single-acting pneumatic cylinders and pneumatic actuators;
   • Directional control valves 5/2 and 5/3 are five-way. They have 1 inlet, but already 2 outlets and 2 exhaust ports. Used for controlling double-acting pneumatic cylinders and actuators;
   • Directional control valves 2/2 are obtained from type 3/2 by installing SF-Z2611 plug fitting on the air exhaust;
   • Directional control valves 4/2 and 4/3 with flat spool are used on panels and control cabinets for specific connections between 3-4 lines, depending on the internal scheme.
3. DN must ensure the required flow rate (air consumption). Usually, the value is indicated in normal litres per minute nl/min and as effective cross-section area;
4. general industrial distributors operate under a pressure of up to 8.5 bar, models for high pressure can operate up to 35 bar.
