Air Impact Wrenches

The following scheme is used to supply compressed air to the pneumatic wrench:

1. A screw compressor with receiver SCC-ZA to pressurise;
2. An air distributor SV-I-H-32 for manual control of air supply to the pneumatic tool line;
3. An air treatment unit consisting of a filter, mechanical regulator with manometer, and oiler for lubrication supply;
4. Flexible hose — straight pipes SF-EU and spiral tubes SF-EUC;
5. Fittings and other spare parts for connecting the air impact wrench

For proper lubrication of wrenches, two types of lubricant are used:

1. Liquid pneumatic oil VG32 is poured into reservoirs (oilers) — it is drawn in by air into the pneumatic drive (where the rotor is);
2. The impact part (hammers, shaft) is lubricated separately — use thick grease for this purpose.

A pneumatic screwdriver has a vane (rotor) pneumatic motor, which is driven by compressed air to turn the shaft with powerful torque.

The impact type pneumatic tool additionally contains one or two hammers inside, pushed by air pressure to generate impact force transmitted through the drive shaft.

The larger the screw and thread pitch, the more powerful the impact wrench needed. Rust and heat-related thread seizure also significantly complicate loosening.

For loosening wheel bolts, an impact-type pneumatic wrench with two inside hammers is recommended — this tool can loosen stuck wheel nuts and has relatively less vibration.

The instruction for the air impact wrench should specify the consumed air volume (consumption): for instance, for ST-BZ30 it is 348 l/min at a pressure of 5.8 to 7.8 bar. Thus, almost any low-power compressor will suffice for a single wrench. However, if you plan to connect multiple pneumatic tools simultaneously, you must add their consumption — for example, to run five wrenches, a compressor must provide at least 348×5 = 1740 l/min, achievable by compressors above 11 kW.
