Pneumatically Actuated Pipeline Valves

Shut-off and control valves with pneumatic actuators are industrial pipeline taps, gates or valves that are operated by compressed air and are used for automated control.

Pneumatic shut-off valves have several advantages over electric ones — pneumatics can easily withstand harsh conditions, vibrations, and overloads. They are cheaper and simpler to maintain, wear out more slowly and are easy to repair. Of course, they are ideal from an explosion safety standpoint. For this reason, pneumatic actuated valves are found in almost any industrial facility where a compressor can be used to compress air.
