Pneumatic cylinders with hollow rods for PET bottling machines of the SC-CPID...-C10 series are manufactured based on standardised pneumatic cylinders with a double-acting rod, manufactured according to the mounting dimensions of ISO 6431 (ISO 15552, VDMA 24562). The advantage of this is the ability to use standard mounting types and interchangeability of cylinders, regardless of the manufacturer.
Adjustable air cushioning in the cylinder provides a smooth stop of the piston at the end of the stroke to reduce the impact force on the front or rear cover. With the help of a special screw, the cushioning can be adjusted for higher or lower piston braking degrees.
The operation of the double-acting pneumatic cylinder is carried out by supplying compressed air through two threaded openings G1/8″ or 3/8″ (depending on the piston diameter). The pressure allows control of the stroke up to 12 bar. Through the hollow rod of the pneumatic cylinder, compressed high-pressure air or another working medium can pass.
