Elbow Fittings
Elbow Fittings
Elbow fittings and adapters are 45° and 90° connectors for thin pneumatic tubes from 4 to 16 mm with a quick-release collet clamp, with a "barb" and a union nut, adapters with internal or external inch or metric thread.
Suitable for compressed air, water, automotive systems
Although Specialist elbow fittings are made for high-pressure industrial pneumatics, they are suitable for water. Metal elbows are used in automotive fuel systems, while plastic ones are used to attach tubes in 3D printers.
The 45 and 90-degree pipe "elbow" from our online store allows the connection of polyamide, Teflon, polyurethane, nylon, polyethylene, and other types of thin pneumatic tubes with a diameter from 4 to 16 millimetres. Elbow adapters have metric, inch, or tapered pipe threads sized from ⅛ to 1″.
Which elbow to choose from the catalogue
By material:
- Plastic elbow fitting is cheaper than the metal one. In our elbows, only the body and collet clamp are made from technopolymer, whereas the threaded inserts of the adapters are made of nickel-plated bronze, which makes the threads more wear-resistant. Together with the NBR ring seal, this makes the plastic pneumatic elbow fittings airtight and reliable for productions with pressure in the pneumatic system up to 10 bar.
- Bronze elbow fitting. Bronze itself has higher hardness and strength indices, better than brass, which is commonly used for water supply lines. For pneumatic fittings, the accuracy of casting and wear resistance are important advantages, ensuring the airtightness of high-pressure pneumatic systems up to 16-35 bar. Furthermore, most series of bronze elbow fittings have a thin layer of nickel on top, and nickel coating enhances their properties.
By connection type:
- Push-in elbow fitting. These are quick-release compression fittings for multiple uses. The collet as a type of elbow connection for thin-walled flexible pipelines does NOT deform the tube edge, unlike the "barb" and others quick-release clamps. Air pressure up to 10~16 bar. There are also elbow collet adapters for diverters in stock — they allow one of its holes to be adapted to another tube diameter.
- Compression elbow fitting with a union nut. These are connectors where a hose is slipped on and additionally clamped by screwing the cap-nut. Metal models withstand pressures up to 35 bar.
- Threaded elbow fitting. These are connecting elbow adapters for connecting a compressor and the pneumatic equipment itself to the pipeline, where a 45° or 90° turn is needed. Maximum pressure 35 bar.

By size and connection type:
- Equal angle swivel couplings have the same tube diameters or thread sizes on both sides. They can be used as extenders — emergency life-savers when two short stretches need to be joined as one. There are also panel-mounted models SF-EPLM, used as connectors in pneumatic cabinets, machines, and installations.
- Elbow reduction fittings are adapters for two tubes of different diameters or two devices with different threads.
- Elbow adapters, usually pneumatic adapters with two different types of inlets: with thread, "barb", collet, or with a union nut.
