The SSA-R pneumatic regulators are traditional Italian-made mechanical pressure regulators, manually adjusted using a gauge (not included). Their advantage is the possibility of modular assembly in a single compact air preparation block, including safety and slow start valves, according to EU pneumatic system requirements.
To purchase an air pressure regulator, you must select its size — we offer 3 models with inlet-outlet pipe cylindrical thread size of ¼, ½ or 1 inch. Besides threaded ports, these control devices also differ in capacity — the largest air regulator supports an air flow rate of up to 15’000 NL/min.

Features of SSA-R diaphragm pressure regulator operation
The SSA-R pneumatic diaphragm regulator is designed to control compressed air pressure and has a special vent on the body to release excess pressure on the consumer side. If the pressure at the exit exceeds the set value due to pneumatic drive operation, the regulator will release air to lower the pressure to the set level. Due to this feature, this regulating device is NOT intended for water or other mediums.
The adjustment range of SSA-R diaphragm pressure regulators depends on the installed internal regulating spring. Three options are available for order:
1. from 0 to 4 bar (for precise low-level pressure control)
2. from 0 to 8 bar (most common and universal option)
3. from 0 to 12 bar.
The inlet pressure from the pneumatic line must always be greater than the outlet pressure by at least 1 bar. This regulator works as a reducer, meaning it can only decrease but not increase pressure.
Choosing SSA-R pneumatic regulator by flow characteristics
The flow graphs of diaphragm pressure regulators are used to determine the pressure drop from a preset value due to changes in air flow by pneumatic tools or other systems — as air consumption begins, the output pressure deviates downward from the set value. During normal regulator operation, this difference between set and actual pressure can reach up to 0.1 MPa.
Graphs can sometimes be used to adjust settings if the air consumption by pneumatic tools is known: for instance, if it is necessary to receive 6 bar from a regulator when consuming 1000 NL/min, it is necessary to set the output pressure of the SSA-R-¼-042 regulator 0.6 bar higher (according to the graph in Fig. 1) to compensate for the drop.
