Compact double pneumatic cylinders (tandems) of the SC-ADVT series feature two pistons of the same diameter combined in one housing to double the force of the pneumatic cylinder — rod extension force up to 6300 Newtons (for Ø80 mm, 7 bar) with relatively small actuator dimensions. The compact tandem SC-ADVT is also due to the use of rubber pads for cushioning at the end of the stroke (without pneumatic damper). Thus, this double pneumatic cylinder can be used at a low frequency and rod extension/retraction speed up to 50 mm/s.

ADVT piston tandems have an aluminium sleeve with T-shaped grooves on the body, allowing for convenient installation of position sensors (each piston has a magnet). Structurally, SC-ADVT can be seen as 2 serially installed double-acting linear pneumatic cylinders in one housing with a combined rod extending from one side (the opposite side — blind cover). On the covers, there are four holes for air supply: Two of them are needed for applying pressure to extend the rod, and two more — for retraction. The rod is usually threaded:
