Compact short-stroke single-acting pneumatic cylinders with return spring in a rodless chamber and a single rod exit of the SC-ADSS series by "Specialist" are manufactured with a stroke up to 50 mm, with a piston diameter up to 100 mm on which a magnet is installed.
The single-acting pneumatic cylinder has 1 inlet for connection to the air supply. When compressed air is supplied to the ADSS inlet, the rod retracts into the sleeve with a force of up to 2800 Newtons (at Ø80 mm and 7 bar). When the pressure is released, the spring returns the rod to the extended position (without significant force). Cylinders of this type are often found on Chinese-made machines.

Short-stroke ADSS pneumatic cylinders have an aluminium sleeve with T-shaped grooves on the body, allowing convenient sensor installation.

The single-acting cylinder with spring has 1 inlet for connection to the pneumatic line. When compressed air is supplied to the ADSS inlet, the rod retracts into the sleeve with force depending on piston diameter and air pressure. When the pressure is relieved, the spring returns the rod to the extended position (if not hindered by the load).
This pneumatic cylinder can move a load only in one direction at a speed up to 100 mm/s
