The aluminium brake resistor ALR-100-500 is a type of brake resistor with a power of 500 W and resistance of 100 Ω, utilising aluminium materials for its construction. This type of resistor typically consists of aluminium heat sinks and resistive elements made from special aluminium alloys with high resistance coefficients.
The main purpose of aluminium brake resistors is the same as other types of brake resistors - to dissipate excess energy generated during braking of electric motors up to 5.5 kW, controlled by frequency inverters. When the inverter activates motor braking, the 500 W aluminium brake resistor is used to dissipate this energy as heat.
Aluminium brake resistors are widely used in control systems of 220 V and 380 V electric motors where efficient braking and dissipation of excess energy are required.
