Screw compressor with frequency drive 7~16 bar, max. 3800 l/min, 22 kW (SCC-ZAY-30-16BAR)

The 22 kW Specialist air compressor SCC-ZAY-30-16BAR is our new 2024 model belonging to the screw oil-filled type compressors with adjustable air pressure delivery from 5 to 16 bar. The high output pressure makes it suitable for supplying air to laser metal cutting machines, PET bottle blow moulding machines, and other industrial pneumatic systems where a compressor up to 16 atmospheres with a capacity of 1800-2000 L/min is required.

Frequency drive with synchronous motor (on permanent magnets) makes the screw compressor 16 atm. more resistant to voltage surges 380V when operating from a generator, as the frequency converter has functions to protect the electric motor from overload and overheating. Unlike other Specialist compressor series, here we also used a rigid direct drive for maximum efficiency. Along with performance control by frequency converter, this is the most energy-efficient class of compressor units, reducing electricity consumption and motor wear.

Touchscreen controller makes setup convenient and helps plan maintenance and timely filter replacement. With Wi-Fi enabled, compressor operating parameters can be remotely viewed on a smartphone with important notifications received.

Note that as the pressure value ⬆increases, the max. number ⬇of litres per minute falls, and vice versa. This is true for all air blowers.

Design features and parts of the 22 kW screw compressor

The compressor consists of the following components:

• screw pair (advanced German rotor manufacturing technology)
• electric motor with permanent magnets
• direct drive (rigid connection WITHOUT couplings and belts for ⬆efficiency);
• air and oil separator;
• gravity lubrication circuit — wear-resistant metal pipelines, filter for cleaning, valves for pressure and direction control, drain tap;
• cooling radiator with large fan;
• built-in electrical cabinet (controller with frequency converter, terminals for 3-phase power connection).

Installation and operation of single-stage compressor SCC-ZAY-30-16BAR

Unless otherwise specified, the screw compressor is shipped assembled, ready for connection and operation. All requirements for the compressor room are included in the attached manual (may differ for different models).

The compressor is connected to the power supply 3-phase 380 V at 50 Hz. To the pneumatic line - using a G-type inch thread fitting (size depends on the model).
