Description
High-performance vector frequency inverters from the SPLC-NZ8400-800G/900P series are designed for controlling high-load three-phase electric motors of 380 V with a power of up to 800 kW, where overloads can occur and high quality control is required. These frequency inverters have higher microprocessor performance than the SPLC-AT20 series, allowing the SPLC-NZ8000 to execute operations faster, thereby providing sensorless vector control of rotation speed with a precision of ±0.5%. If necessary, the inverter can be switched to simple scalar control mode U/f with lower accuracy and to "Pump" mode for working with more powerful motors but with lower load (details below).
The inverter SPLC-NZ8000 can also be additionally equipped with a PG board (purchased separately). With it, an encoder sensor can be connected to track motor rotation speed and rotor position. Vector control with feedback offers high responsiveness and rotation speed control accuracy up to ±0.02%, allows for torque control accuracy up to ±5%, and supports not only asynchronous, but also synchronous motors.

Enabling simple scalar control in SPLC-NZ8000 inverters makes it possible to select the load type “General” or “Pump” in the menu.
- General — general industrial mode for motors operating with roughly equal torque at different speeds (compressors, conveyors, lifts). In this mode, the frequency inverter can provide starting torque over 150% for acceleration to overcome friction and inertia.
- Pump — specialized mode for fans, pumps, and other electric motors that operate with torque increasing along with rotation speed and where high starting torque is unnecessary.
Thus, the frequency inverter SPLC-NZ8400-800G/900P is designed for controlling motors up to 800 kW, but when switching to scalar control and "Pump" mode, it can control an electric motor up to 900 kW. This will reduce the allowable overload: while in normal "General" mode, loads up to 150% for 60 s or 180% for 3 s are allowed, in "Pump" mode with a more powerful motor, these indicators decrease — overload no more than 120% for 60 s or 150% for 3 s.
| Support for various PG boards | Supports PG boards for rotating transformer, differential input, UVW differential input, resolver, and open collector input |
|---|---|
| Operation during power drop | Voltage drop is compensated by load feedback energy, allowing the drive to continue operating for a short time. |
| Rated Current Limitation | Prevents drive overcurrent trip failures. |
| High Performance | Asynchronous and synchronous motor control is achieved using high-performance current vector technology. |
| Time Management | Time range: 0.0-6500.0 min |
| Communication Method | Modbus (standard) Profibus-DP (optional) CANlink (optional) CAN (optional) |
| Protection Modes | Detection of short circuits on motor power-up, protection against input or output phase loss, overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, overheating, and overload. |
Principle Circuit of Inverter SPLC-NZ8400-5R5G/7R5P
SPLC-NZ8000 features multifunctional input-output control terminals, whose functions can be independently assigned in settings — to determine the set frequency, give the go-forward command, stop, etc.:
- Inputs: 8 discrete inputs (one high-speed pulse), 2 analogue inputs (one 0...10 V or 0...20 mA, the second only for +10...-10 V;
- Outputs: 1 discrete transistor output (high-speed), 2 relays 250 VAC 3 A or 30 VDC 1 A, 2 analogue outputs (0...10 or 0...20 mA).
By default, the frequency inverter supports the most common communication port in Ukrainian enterprises RS-485, but these frequency inverters can be supplied with a Profibus or CAN data transmission board upon request, making it easy to integrate equipment into any modern industrial network.
