Tandem Pneumatic Cylinder is two air cylinders connected in series end-to-end within one housing, allowing their combined forces to be doubled. They are elongated and narrower than classic pneumatic cylinders with larger piston rod diameters.

Compressed air must be supplied simultaneously to both sections of the tandem as shown in the diagram. For this, a five-line distributor 5/2 can be used, which has a fitting tee at the outlet for line branching.
