Description
High-performance vector frequency converters of the SPLC-NZ8400-220G/250P series are designed to control high-load three-phase electric motors 380 V with a power of up to 220 kW, where overloads may occur, and high management quality requirements are set. These frequency converters have higher microprocessor performance than the SPLC-AT20 series, allowing the SPLC-NZ8000 to execute operations faster and ensure sensorless vector control with a speed accuracy of ±0.5%. If necessary, the inverter can switch to simple scalar control mode U/f with less precision and the "Pump" mode for working with more powerful motors at a lower load (details below).
The converter SPLC-NZ8000 can also be optionally equipped with a PG board (purchased separately). With it, a sensor-encoder can be connected to the inverter to track the motor's rotation speed and rotor position. Vector control with feedback provides enhanced responsiveness and speed control accuracy to ±0.02%, allowing control of the torque with accuracy up to ±5% and working not only with asynchronous but also synchronous motors.

Engaging simple scalar control in SPLC-NZ8000 converters makes it possible to select menu load type "General" or "Pump".
- General — general industrial mode for motors operating with roughly equal torque at different speeds (compressors, conveyors, lifts). In this mode, the frequency converter can provide a starting torque of over 150% for acceleration to overcome frictional and inertial forces.
- Pump — specialized mode for fans, pumps, and other electric motors working with torque that increases with rotational speed and where high starting torque is not required.
Thus, the frequency converter SPLC-NZ8400-220G/250P is intended for controlling motors up to 220 kW, but when switching to scalar control and "Pump" mode, it can control an electric motor up to 250 kW. This will reduce permissible overload: In the normal "General" mode, a load of no more than 150% for 60 s or 180% for 3 s is allowed, while in "Pump" mode with a more powerful motor, these figures decrease — overload of no more than 120% for 60 s or 150% for 3 s.

Schematic of Frequency Inverter SPLC-NZ8400-5R5G/7R5P
SPLC-NZ8000 has multifunctional input-output control terminals, which can be self-configured in settings — to set specified frequency, give forward run command, stop, etc.:
- Input: 8 discrete inputs (including one pulse high-speed), 2 analog inputs (one 0...10 V or 0...20 mA, second one only for +10...-10 V;
- Output: 1 discrete transistor output (high-speed), 2 relay outputs 250 VAC 3 A or 30 VDC 1 A, 2 analog outputs (0...10 or 0...20 mA).
By default, the frequency converter supports the most common communication port RS-485 in Ukrainian enterprises, but on request, these frequency inverters can be supplied with a Profibus or CAN data transmission board to integrate the equipment into any modern industrial network easily.
