Description
The ceramic resistor model SPLC-WR-40-1500 is commonly used as a braking resistor for 15 kW frequency converters for three-phase motors 380 V — selection should be based on the characteristics recommended by the frequency converter manufacturer and the calculated braking power of the motor. This wire-wound resistor has a resistance of 40 Ohm and power of 1500 W.
Braking resistors of the WR series are made from a ceramic tube, around which wire made from an iron-chrome-aluminum alloy (by default) or nichrome (on request) is wound. The ceramic body serves as an insulator and heat sink, resistant to high temperatures and corrosion. The wire has high specific electrical conductivity, allowing efficient dissipation of heat generated during motor braking.
