Description

The 5/3 valve with a closed centre can be used to control double-acting pneumatic cylinders. The working air pressure in the system is from 0 to 8.5 bar.

5/3 valves have five lines and three positions. The connection ports are designated:

P — inlet port
A — output 1
B — output 2
R1 — exhaust from output 1
R2 — exhaust from output 2

When ordering, the customer must select the required connection thread size — G 1/8″, 1/4″, 3/8″ or 1/2″.

Each of the two side ends of the valve has an G 1/8″ threaded port for connecting the pneumatic control signal. This valve has two-sided pneumatic control.

The 5/3 distribution valves are monostable, meaning in the absence of control air signals, the valve remains in a fixed position, depending on the centre type:

Closed centre "C" — when there are no signals, the return spring ensures the spool valve takes a middle position, blocking all operating lines. The same happens with simultaneous application of both signals at equal pressure;
Open centre "E" — the middle position connects the outputs to the exhaust ports with air supply closed;
Supply to both outputs "P" — in the middle position, air is supplied from the inlet to both outputs, with exhaust ports closed.
