VFD Cabinet (Variable Frequency Drive Cabinet) is a ready-made control panel for one or several electric motors using frequency inverters installed in an enclosure with all additional devices. The assembly manufactured by Specialist to individual order usually includes frequency inverters, internal wiring with circuit breakers, electromagnetic chokes, filters, PLCs, and other devices installed in an electrical metal enclosure with IP65 protection (or another protection class, including explosion-proof versions).

- Our company is the official representative of the Nietz VFD manufacturing plant. We not only supply reliable electric drive equipment but also provide frequency inverter service and repair in Ukraine;
- Our engineers have extensive experience — we have manufactured pump control cabinets with frequency inverters for centrifugal, submersible, and booster pumps with various startup and operating modes;
- We directly import proven components such as braking resistors for smooth motor stopping, EMC filters, input and output reactors, time relays, sensors (encoders, inductive and capacitive sensors), and AC phase-angle controllers. This reduces your costs for a complete and reliable assembly;
- You receive a ready-to-use and convenient drive control cabinet manufactured according to ISO requirements (electromagnetic compatibility), DSTU/GOST standards (distance between components, cable cross-sections and insulation, grounding, component labeling, etc.), along with high-quality documentation (frequency inverter wiring diagrams and setup instructions).
Manufacturing of Frequency Inverter Cabinets by Specialist
The stages of VFD cabinet assembly include:
-
Design:
Selection of the control method and accuracy, choosing frequency inverters from 0.2 to 315 kW, and designing connections based on the customer’s power supply, asynchronous/synchronous motor parameters, and application characteristics (load, inertia, availability of feedback for monitoring and control, response speed requirements, etc.) -
Approval:
A more precise cost estimate for the VFD cabinet project and preparation of a component list, enclosure dimensions (wall-mounted or floor-standing), and determination of whether remote control panels for the VFDs are required. -
Manufacturing:
Optimal placement of electrical equipment, internal wiring, installation of control panels and push buttons, and application of labels. - Preparation of documentation and drawings.
- Delivery to the customer via Nova Poshta.
Frequently Asked Questions About VFD Cabinets
Why is an IP65 electrical cabinet needed for a frequency inverter?
Most frequency inverters have IP20 protection-rated enclosures. This means that the housing does not protect the internal circuit boards from water, high humidity, or fine dust. Such IP20 frequency inverter models are standard and intended for installation inside a VFD cabinet on DIN rails together with other electrical components. For industrial environments, the most reliable solution is an impact-resistant metal dustproof and waterproof enclosure with IP56 protection.
If you need to control a single pump on-site, frequency inverters with IP56 protection and sealed cable glands (the NZS series) may also be suitable. Such a model can be installed directly on a vertical multistage pump.
